Sam Wilmott

Sam has been performing from a very young age, he was only a little 7 year old when he had his West End Debut playing Nipper in Oliver! at the London Palladium. Since then he has been lucky enough to appear in many West End shows across London, including The Snowman (Peacock Theatre), Whistle Down The Wind (Aldwych Theatre), and the UK Tour production of Dr Dolittle (playing Tommy Stubbins).

After graduating from Millennium Performing Arts in 2006, Sam was offered the Original cast of The Lord of The Rings (Theatre Royal Drury Lane), which involved many stunts, stilt walking and bungee flying, which solidified his love for physical performance. As Sam has always been known as Monkey Boy, it was clear why he then played Chistery (the monkey) in Wicked (London Apollo Victoria). After performing in a number of other physical circus shows such as The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, motion capture workshops with Andy Serkis and a few feature films, in 2013 Sam found puppetry in War Horse (New London Theatre), and was a big horse puppeteer and the Fight Captain for 3 years.

Sam is also a passionate furniture maker, building custom made reclaimed furniture out of his London workshop, you can find his builds on Instagram @MONKEYBOYSWORKSHOP.

Sam has been a self taught drummer from a young age, and STOMP is the only show he’s ever had his eyes on, so is over the moon that he is now a part of this awesome show.
